Where to next? #lockdownlist

Here’s what’s on our ultimate travel #lockdownlist...

With the general view that regional travel will be the first to slowly come back once restrictions ease (albeit with precautions), the reality of a local holiday may not be too far from reach…

But until that happens, we’ve been hard at work creating the ultimate local #lockdownlist, pinpointing our favourite easy-to-reach resorts and lodges we’ve been longing to visit over South Africa’s national lockdown.

#1 The Blue Marlin Hotel in Scottburgh, KZN

Wanting to wiggle your toes in the sand? When this 50-year old seaside icon finally reopens her doors there will be plenty of empty rooms to choose from where you’ll have the beach right on your doorstep.

#2 Piekenierskloof Mountain Resort, Western Cape

If you live in the Western Cape, keep in mind that beyond the twisting curves of Piekenierskloof Pass, lies one of our favourite family-friendly resorts. ‘Piekies’ comes complete with a spacious outdoor pool and plenty of outdoor space to tire out little legs.

#3 Finfoot Lake Reserve, Elands River Game Reserve, Northern Cape

When it’s safe to travel locally again, kickstart an adventure outdoors at Finfoot, just a 90-minute drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria. It offers a range of safari activities such as 4x4 game drives, barge cruises and guided segway safaris.

#4 Little Switzerland, Northern Drakensburg, KZN

Dreaming of seeing the mountains again? Channel your inner Fraulein Maria with a future stay at this charming Alpine resort which offers pet-friendly chalets so that Fido can tag along, too.

#5 Jozini Tiger Lodge & Spa, Lake Jozini, KZN

Located on the banks of the Lake Jozini, Jozini Tiger Lodge & Spa is known for its superb tiger fishing opportunities. From the novice fisherman to the expert anglers this is just the spot to get back out on the water again with a couple of cold ones.

When it’s safe to travel locally and you’re ready to action your own #lockdownlist, we’re here to help get you started. Click here if you’re ready to look at a few potential travel dates, or contact our reservations team here for an idea of our flexible booking policies.
