Whether it’s hiking or walking, driving or climbing, Little Switzerland will reward you with a plethora of activities, great for those high-level adventurous ones who can’t ever seem to sit still, but also for those looking to simply take it easy.
Go Walking
There are a number of walking trails leading right off this Drakensberg resort, making it almost too easy to stretch your legs and head out into nature. The views are absolutely breathtaking as you trek through the surrounding valley keeping an eye out for various birds. The easier trails close-by are especially great for families to conquer together. Head back to Little Switzerland afterwards for a refreshing and rewarding dip in the pool.
Cast a Line
We also offer fly fishing at our dam, well-stocked with Bass, Barbel, Yellowfish and trout. The cost is R50 per fishing permit per day with fly rod hire at R 50 per rod per day. If you’re not up for fishing, the dam area is one of the best spots to sprawl out on a blanket in the sunshine with a good book. In the summer we offer a power boat for water skiing and tubing.
Saddle up for a horse ride
Enjoy the stillness of the Drakensberg as you amble gently along on horseback. Always popular with couples and families, our horseback rides are one of our most sought-after resort activities. Horse rides are R190 per person for an hour with a guide, while 20 minute pony rides are R15 for children under 12 years old.
Go-Karting
Kick up some mud and experience a good dose of adrenaline and go go-karting at Little Switzerland. Suitable for kids 10 years and older.
